Must be able to work nights, days and afternoons, weekends, statutory holidays as scheduled and when called with little notice.
Duties
As a Support Counsellor at the Peter Willis Residence, you will:
- Assist with established Support Plans and help clients develop the skills and resources they need to enhance their social functioning.
- Facilitate group programs.
- Monitor, distribute and document medication.
- Intervene and mediate client disputes.
- Assist in conducting irregular urinalysis and breathalyzer testing.
Qualifications
- College diploma in the Human/Social Services field
- Minimum of 1-year combined student placement and/or paid experience working in a therapeutic and/or correctional residential setting or with individuals involved in the justice system.
- Able to be granted Reliability Status
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiar with databases
- Access to reliable transportation
- Able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress.
