Varied shift schedule – availability required for nights, weekends, statutory holidays and last-minute shift coverage.
Duties
We are recruiting for a Part time Support Counsellor. This role is a vital part of our Peter Willis Residence Team, supporting federally sentenced men in their journey back into the community. Through counselling, group programs, and employment services, we help clients build the skills and
confidence they need to thrive.
As a Support Counsellor, you’ll be a key part of that transformation. Your impact will include:
Supporting clients with personalized plans to boost social functioning
Facilitating engaging groups
Monitoring and documenting medication distribution
Mediating disputes and promoting peaceful resolution
Assisting with urinalysis and breathalyzer testing
Qualifications
College diploma in related Social/Human Sciences
Minimum 1 year experience (placement or paid) in therapeutic or correctional settings
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with databases
Accessibility to reliable transportation
Must be granted Reliability Status before employment can start
Ability to manage occasional exposure to vicarious traumatic stress
