37.5 hours per week - predominantly Monday to Friday with flexibility
Duties
We are recruiting for a Facilities Assistant. This role is a vital part of our Facilities Team, supporting individuals by making a real difference every day by ensuring our 10+ locations are safe, functional, and welcoming for both staff and clients.
Managing and prioritizing tasks through our automated ticketing system
Communicating effectively with team members and staff across the Agency
Identifying and acting on preventative maintenance opportunities
Troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues before they become emergencies
Performing general maintenance and facility improvements: painting, minor plumbing and electrical work, drywall and appliance repairs
Handling seasonal yardwork: mowing, weeding, salting, and shoveling
Moving and installing office furniture
Supporting inspections and compliance (AODA equipment, fire safety, generators)
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience in general maintenance
Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Basic knowledge in residential electrical and plumbing practices
Must hold a valid driver’s license, with ability to drive agency vehicles as travel between sites is required
