Duties

We are recruiting for a Facilities Assistant. This role is a vital part of our Facilities Team, supporting individuals by making a real difference every day by ensuring our 10+ locations are safe, functional, and welcoming for both staff and clients

 

  • Managing and prioritizing tasks through our automated ticketing system

  • Communicating effectively with team members and staff across the Agency

  • Identifying and acting on preventative maintenance opportunities

  • Troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues before they become emergencies

  • Performing general maintenance and facility improvements: painting, minor plumbing and electrical work, drywall and appliance repairs

  • Handling seasonal yardwork: mowing, weeding, salting, and shoveling

  • Moving and installing office furniture

  • Supporting inspections and compliance (AODA equipment, fire safety, generators)

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in general maintenance

  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Basic knowledge in residential electrical and plumbing practices

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, with ability to drive agency vehicles as travel between sites is required
