Systems Support Assistant
- Full-time, Permanent position
- 30 to 40 hours per week
- some weekend or after hours may be required to meet Business needs
Duties
Primary Responsibilities Include:
· Provide first-level support to end users both local users and remote staff by diagnosing, resolving and documenting software, hardware and network issues
· Maintain and upgrade hardware and software for desktops, laptops, tablets along with other hardware
· Support staff onboarding processes by preparing IT equipment, including account creation, permissions and access granting as required
· Assist with patch management, backups and system monitoring
· Assist with management of network and infrastructure as required
· Coordinate support with outside vendors as required
Secondary responsibilities include:
· Assist with IT projects such as system/infrastructure upgrades, cyber security initiatives and other IT projects
· Maintain accurate inventory records of IT equipment and assist with asset tracking
· Staying up to date on new technologies
· Decommissioning old hardware
· Write reports based on end user requirements in our ERP system
Qualifications
Experience working in Windows operating systems both Server and Desktop, Office 365, and Active Directory
· Experience with deploying hardware such as Cell phones, Computers, printers, scanners and monitors, etc.
· Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
· Experience with Power Shell and other scripting languages
· Basic Programing knowledge preferred
· Experience with Linux is an asset
· Basic understanding of Virtual Servers configuration, maintenance, migration is an asset
· Knowledge of infrastructure hardening techniques and implementation of cybersecurity measures is an asset.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Comfortable with working at heights and on ladders
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints
· Effective communicator
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
· A valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
· Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
· Positive attitude toward teamwork and following established protocols.
Education:
· High school diploma is required but College or higher education in IT or Technology preferred
· 1+ years of experience in the IT field supporting end user is preferred
