Full Time Permanent 40 – 44 hours per week

  • Flexibility in Work Schedule. 

    Store Hours:

     7:00 am – 8:00 pm Mon - Fri and 

    8:00 am to 5:00 pm Sat

    May be required to work 1-2 nights per week: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm.

 

Duties

  • Customer service, load materials, fill orders, assist customers.
  • Support existing and new product lines, warehousing, stocking.
  • Prepare orders for delivery.
  • Unload orders and products as needed.
  • Regular delivery of customer orders.
  • Work with fellow staff to ensure yard and warehouse is neat, clean and tidy which includes sweeping & picking up strapping and garbage.
  • Regular stocking and replenishment of lumber and other building material products.
  • Have the flexibility to work in any other temporary assignment as designated by manager.
  • Operate forklift & tow motor and conduct daily forklift circle checks.
  • Conduct required training seminars; modules & assignments as required.
  • Report inventory requirements to appropriate department manager.
  • Treat company’s property, vehicles & inventory with respect, care and safety.
  • Organize, label and stock all incoming feed products in warehouse.
  • Ensure Farm & Country is stocked with bagged feed & shavings twice a week.
  • Help Garden Centre staff with requests and tasks as needed.
  • Assist in building, designing & executing special projects as needed.
  • Treat customers as “you” would like to be treated.
  • Manage and motivate yourself and others in your area.

Qualifications

  • Interest in Retail Sales required.
  • Experience with lumber or woodworking products and services.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing retail environment.
  • Work well independently and within a team environment.
  • Work two scheduled Saturdays per month as well as evenings.
  • Motivated, self-disciplined individual with a strong work ethic.
  • MUST, MUST, MUST like people!!!
  • Ability to listen and understand customer needs.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Clean driving abstract and valid G driver’s license. DZ license an asset. 
  • Ability to lift 35 to 40 kg articles. Ex. shingles, patio stones, drywall, etc.
  • Physically fit to handle outdoor weather conditions and diversified temperatures.
  • Punctuality and ready to work.
