Duties

Primary Responsibilities
  • Load full pallets of birdseed onto trucks for transport
  • Pick, stretch-wrap, and stage orders for loading as required
  • Clear the automatic stretch-wrapper of finished product and store in appropriate warehouse locations using scanning software
  • Cut bags of old or damaged product into the rework flush bin
  • Complete all required paperwork including rework tracking, scanning, quality, and shipping documentation
  • Notify the quality department to approve custom mix products
  • Report all food safety problems and/or quality concerns to personnel with authority to initiate actions
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist in unloading trucks of packaging ingredients or packaging
  • Support team members in moving objects requiring a lift truck
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and offer solutions to problems
  • Ensure all equipment is operating properly and report unsafe equipment or conditions to the Workplace Health & Safety Committee or relevant authority
  • Be willing and able to work in and be trained on other positions within the operation as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift experience (required)

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work shift hours and overtime as required
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather when required
  • Willingness to be trained and work in other positions within the operation
  • Ability to work in an environment containing peanuts, wheat, and other allergens
