Duties
At Egger Truck, we offer service for heavy trucks and trailers. The truck technician repairs and maintains diesel and gasoline engines. This person has a good mechanical understanding of electrical, driveline and hydraulic systems and works both on-site and off-site on service calls for emergency breakdowns. The truck technician maintains a respectful demeanor while working with the team and with our customers.
- Ability to repair and diagnose gasoline and diesel trucks and trailers including but not limited to; hydraulics, brakes, engines, driveline, transmissions, steering and suspension with the ability to replace other parts as needed.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
- Maintain shop equipment in good operating order
- Maintain service truck and report to your manager any deficiencies
- Maintain and keep work area clean and safe
- Able to work full time with overtime in the busy season.
- Attend training as required by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description
- Adhere to the Health & Safety program, policies and procedures
- Be present for monthly safety meetings
- Sundry duties as needed
Qualifications
- Mechanical experience an asset; training is available
- Valid class “G” license
- Fork truck Operators certification ; training available on-site
- Basic computer skills
- Customer service skills
- Must be able to travel by air with a passport for training on products
- Must have own tools
Eligibility
- This job may require you to work both indoors and outdoors, on site or off site as we do provide service calls. As you may be working outdoors you need to be prepared to work in various weather elements. Required Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times.
- You must be able to lift up to 40-5o lbs. This job requires manual dexterity as you will be bending, twisting, up and down off of the floor working on equipment. You must be able to follow safe operating procedures to avoid injury.
- Must have reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
