Key Responsibilities:
General Functions
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks
- Operate forklift and maintain shop equipment
- Follow safety protocols and complete in-house training before performing any function
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
Hose Assembly Functions
- Hose cutting saw
- Fitting insertion machine
- Crimping machines
- Inspection and Testing
- Labelling and packaging tools
Fabrication Equipment
- Band saw
- Punch press
- Drill – multi spindle
- Inspection
- Additional shop equipment as needed
Quality Assurance
- Incoming inspection
- In-process inspection
- Final inspection
- Defect reporting
- Record keeping
Continuous Improvement Functions
Participate in feedback and process improvement discussions
Maintain awareness of shop safety, processes and workflows
Apply a problem-solving mindset to daily tasks
All tasks require successful completion of in-house training before independent operation. Training includes safety procedures, equipment handling, quality standards and hands-on skill development. Employees must demonstrate proficiency before working unsupervised.
Qualifications
General
- Reliable transportation to Ayr, Ontario
- CSA-certified work boots
- Ability to read a measuring tape and interpret work orders
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented
Technical
- No previous experience required — full training provided
- Willingness to learn safe operation of shop machinery
- Basic mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
