Duties

We’re looking for compassionate, adaptable individuals to join our Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services (WMTS) team as Withdrawal Management Workers and Residential Counsellors.
This role offers the opportunity to be cross trained across multiple service areas, including:
- Withdrawal Management Beds
- Men’s Live-In Treatment (11 beds)
- Women’s Live-In Treatment (10 beds)
- 24/7 Crisis Line
Whether you’re supporting someone in active withdrawal, walking alongside a client through a 5-week treatment journey, or offering a lifeline over the phone, you will be part of a team that values empathy, collaboration, and recovery-focused care.
In this role, you will provide direct, hands-on support to individuals making changes to their substance use, helping them build life skills, navigate transitions, and access the care they need.
What You’ll Do
• Welcome clients and provide orientation to the facility and program expectations
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms and administer prescribed medications safely
• Conduct client screenings prior to admission and alert medical staff to safety concerns
• Deliver individual and group psychoeducational programming (e.g., relapse prevention, coping strategies, motivation to change)
• Facilitate social and recreational activities that support recovery
• Co-develop strength-based safety, support, and transition plans with clients
• Provide compassionate support to clients in residence and on the crisis line
• Respond to crisis line calls including supportive listening, coping strategies, risk assessment, and safety planning
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Support day-to-day operations including tours, light cleaning, and meal preparation
Qualifications
- College diploma or certificate in human services, social services, addictions, or concurrent disorders
- Minimum two years combined student placement and/or paid experience in substance use, concurrent disorders, or mental health settings
- Experience facilitating group or individual life skills programming
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic databases
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work in environments where exposure to direct and vicarious trauma may occur
