37.5-hours per week. Primarily Monday to Friday days, offering evening hours at least one day per week until 8 pm.
Duties
Concurrent Disorders Clinicians (CDC) employ a strengths-based approach to supporting individuals with addictions and mental health issues. You are part of a collaborative team that supports people who use substances through assessment, support and transition plans, referrals, and therapeutic interventions. You make a difference!
Our Addictions and Mental Health department has a variety of programs that allow Concurrent Disorders Clinicians to grow their skills and support people who use substances in different ways. We currently have two full time contract positions available and are seeking clinicians to provide largely individual counselling in the community to individuals on probation or residing within supportive housing.
Hours of work: 37.5-hours per week. Primarily Monday to Friday days, offering evening hours at least one day per week until 8 pm.
Training: Initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role, as well as access to ongoing professional development.
Contracts ends: June 15, 2025, and February 27, 2026
Qualifications
- Have a college diploma in the Human or Social Services field, with a University Degree in a related Social Sciences preferred
- Have current registration with a professional governing body such as College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ combined education/experience in substance use, concurrent disorders and/or mental health clinical settings
- Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
- Be able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress
- Access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required
- Please also note that the successful candidate will be required to provide a police vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment, however strong consideration is made to the type of offense
