35 hours per week. Primarily days, Monday-Friday with some evening opportunities available. Must be flexible to accommodate the needs of the program.
Canada Summer Jobs Program 8-week contract
Duties
The Temporary Full Time Addictions Intake Assistant facilitates screening, schedules intake appointments for clients in Addictions and Mental Health. Makes, receives and screens referrals to address client needs and appropriateness for various programs and supports. Provides follow-up calls to clients regarding their upcoming appointments. Assists with the delivery of harm reduction program, including the organization and distribution of harm reduction supplies to clients, data entry and distribution of Naloxone kits. Assists with art-based client group.
Qualifications
Candidates must currently be studying in the Human/Social Services field and possess effective problem-solving and communications skills.
According to Canada Summer Jobs guidelines, applicants must also:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age.
- Have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible); and
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
