Duties

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food products in accordance with A&W recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. The Cook works in a fast-paced environment while ensuring food quality, cleanliness, and excellent guest satisfaction.

  • Prepare burgers, chicken, fries, breakfast items, and other menu products according to A&W recipes and standards.
  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely.
  • Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and within service time targets.
  • Maintain food quality, freshness, and proper portion control.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Monitor product temperatures and maintain food holding times.
  • Receive, rotate, and store inventory using FIFO procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, prep areas, and equipment.
  • Assist with food preparation and stocking throughout the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely order completion.
  • Report equipment issues or food quality concerns to management.
  • Support teammates during busy periods and contribute to a positive work environment.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or food service experience is an asset but not required.
  • Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Food preparation skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.

Eligibility

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
