A Cashier is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. Cashier will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
• Operating all aspects of cash register including cash and card transactions, scanner and scales while maintaining register accuracy
• Provide excellent customer service and positively engage with customers
• Must be able to work in fast paced environment
• Bag groceries for customers
• Promote store loyalty program and fundraising campaigns
• Stock shelves and maintain inventory
• Produce a tidy and organized check out area and workspace
• Adhere to all food safety protocols, health and safety policies and nay other company programs and initiates
• Preform other work related duties as required
• Follow store policies for the sales of restricted items such as lottery, tobacco and alcohol products
• Answer incoming calls in a professional manner and directing calls to appropriate department
• Training of junior staff
What you have to offer:
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Above average communication skills (oral and written)
• Demonstrated initiative and motivation with a commitment to teamwork
• Previous experience working in a grocery store environment is considered an asset
