Duties

We are recruiting for a Housing Resource Centre System Navigator. This role is a vital part of our Housing Resource Centre, supporting individuals and families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. You will guide clients through stabilization, service access, and connection to essential community support.

 

What You’ll Do
  • Provide direct support to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and welcoming experience for all clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the Housing Services team to deliver coordinated care.
  • Use a harm reduction approach in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Assist clients with housing searches and support them in understanding tenant rights and responsibilities.
  • Connect clients to resources such as legal clinics, income support services, food banks, and ID/tax clinics.
  • Complete documentation and maintain accurate records in multiple electronic databases.
  • Participate in case management meetings within the department and broader sector.
  • Support clients in navigating housing-related financial supports including Brant Access to Housing, COHB, and the Housing Stability Fund.

Qualifications

  • A college diploma in Human or Social Services.
  • Minimum 2 years’ combined placement and/or paid experience supporting individuals with homelessness, substance use, mental health, or concurrent disorders.
  • Knowledge of housing systems and community support services.
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with databases.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Comfort working in uncontrolled environments such as client homes or public locations.
  • Ability to manage occasional exposure to vicarious trauma.
